Terms of Service

These terms are provided as a starting template based on how Woolly Bug works. They should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before publication.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Woolly Bug mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Woolly Bug ("we", "us" or "our"), based in the United Kingdom. By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Your licence to use Woolly Bug

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own fly tying purposes, in line with these Terms and the Apple App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app.

2. Your account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@woollybug.com if you suspect unauthorised use. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.
• Use automated means to extract data from the Service except via features we provide.

4. Free use, subscriptions and payments

Woolly Bug is free to download and use, subject to certain usage limits. We may offer paid upgrades or subscriptions that unlock additional capacity or features. Any purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account and are subject to Apple's terms. Prices and limits may change; where they do, we will give reasonable notice. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policy.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you create in the Service — your inventory, patterns, photos and notes. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, back up and sync that content so we can provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the content you add and for keeping your own backups; the app's CSV export is available for this.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, the Woolly Bug name and logo, and the hook reference database, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you.

7. Reference data and accuracy

Woolly Bug provides reference information such as hook specifications and equivalents across brands. Hook sizing is not standardised between manufacturers, so this information is provided as a helpful guide only and may be approximate. You should verify critical details for yourself. We do not warrant that any reference data is complete, current or error-free.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data sync will always be available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or where we reasonably need to. On termination, the licence granted to you ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are significant, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law in your country of residence provides otherwise. [Adjust this clause to your actual jurisdiction.]
